In a follow-up to his corruption story from two weeks ago, Bill Britt of Alabama Political Reporter is reporting that subpoenas have been issued to state Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard regarding documents from his tenure as ALGOP chairman.
Though the exact nature of the investigation is as yet unknown, it’s not insignificant that Attorney General Luther Strange, who spent over $29,000 on Hubbard-owned companies during the 2010 election, has reportedly recused himself from the investigation.
